W3c Standards And Google’s Accessibility – Revolutionizing Seo Process

Do you want you site to be accessible to Google? Then read this entire article for it can tell you if you are heading in the right direction. Yeah, you heard me right! This is no run-of-the-mill article explaining the same old SEO methodology. This is about the W3C standards and Google’s new guidelines on accessibility that ought to be incorporated by the webtreprenuers (web + entrepreneurs) for making their site rank higher in the SERPs of major search engines including the giant Google.

What do W3C standards have to do with Accessibility?

There is solid relationship of W3C standards with website accessibility. Websites written in correct codes are easily scanable/crawlable by search engines. Hence, the W3C compliant websites are likely to achieve higher search engine rankings in the long run. So how does this happen? Typically, search engine bots tend to scan/crawl error-free HTML codes much better and index the websites accurately as well. However, the initial purpose of W3C standards was not aimed at Search Engine Optimization at all. In fact, it was developed to establish web coding standards to maintain uniformity among all website coding which ensures benefits for the webtreprenuers and web visitors alike.

It is noteworthy that the W3C compliant websites are not only search engine friendly, but also visible in all browsers, adaptable, flexible and accessible with any reading devices, making them visitor-friendly. Besides, the basic objective behind the W3C standards was to bring advantages for designers, developers, and webmasters by offering a basis to the new sites with a logical structure which would be easy and affordable to manage and maintain.

Google’s initiative to support W3C Standards

Now, Google has kick-started its initiative to conform to W3C standard guidelines. With an objective to deliver better search results to its visually challenged searchers, Google has started recognizing W3C coding standards as a code of conduct for all websites. This will help Google scan through the websites properly in order to offer better results to its users. This is known as Google’s Accessible Web Search.

Google’s Accessible Web Search

Being conducted on an experiment basis, Google’s Accessible Web Search will soon be in operation to rank the accessible sites higher. Yes! The sites that pass the accessibility test will rank higher in Google SERP. Accessible websites not only rank higher but also become accessible to the visibly impaired visitors.

Features of Accessible Website

Sites that are accessible are not visually disturbing. Graphics and Animations are kept as little as possible and they work well without the images. These websites are also easily navigable which can be managed from the keyboard. Good navigator enhances user experience which brings traffic to your site. In a nutshell, it increases the usability of the websites.

The Future of SEO

The future of SEO beckons W3C standard coding compliance and accessibility for websites. Now-a-days, most SEO companies have introduced HTML validation as an important feature in their menu. The webmasters need to pull up their socks and validate their HTML codes and address the accessibility issues as well. Google’s Accessibility Protocols are not as strict as W3C standards, but they still make a world of difference to the visually challenged users. Hence, by the next time Google update its algorithm, you had better validate your HTML coding by optimizing your site on the basis of W3C standards and Google’s Accessibility Protocols.
