It all sounds very easy when you look at in this way, but essentially, that is all there is to it. Let us have a look at each of these 3 steps to publishing articles in a little more detail.

Step 1 – Write your article. Why would be writing articles in the first place? Well, it is all about getting the word out about who you are and be known as someone who can write with a degree of authority on the subject of your choice. Your article needs to be around 500 words in length and be well written with good grammar.

Start your article with a brief lead section introducing the topic before launching into the main body of the article. Paragraphs should be relatively short to keep eyestrain to a minimum. Long paragraphs can normally be broken up into two or three separate paragraphs with a similar theme running through them.

Step 2 – Publish your articles. There are hundreds of sites where you can publish your articles. These sites generally fall into one of two categories, groups and article directories.

There are dozens of Yahoo groups dedicated to publishing articles and providing web masters with good free content. These groups are free to join and be sure to check publishing guidelines before starting to publish your articles.

Article directories are probably the best option for publishing articles. Again, these are free to join but make sure you read their terms of use and submission guidelines. Publishing your article is a simple matter of copying and pasting the article you've written. The important part here to use the author biog box provided on these sites. This is where you can write a short piece about yourself and provided a link back to your site.

The link will help you to drive traffic back to your site. The best part about this traffic is that it is targeted traffic relating to the article you've written.

Step 3 – Wait. This is the easy part. Wait for your article to be approved by the site editor. You should have no problems here if your article is well written and you have followed the submission guidelines. Next, wait for the targeted traffic to arrive at your website.
