If you're anything like I am, then as an affiliate marketers you're probably always on the lookout for the best marketing tactics to utilise to generate a bigger paycheck. Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking that there's a magical formula to apply. Actually, it's a little more complicated than that... It's just a matter of applying good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication. There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing that still continue to work in internet marketing today. With the following top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales, thereby increasing your affiliate commissions and survive as a successful online affiliate marketer. 1. Use unique web pages to promote each separate product that you market Try not to lump all of the products/services that you promote together on the one page just to save some money on web hosting. It's better to have a site focusing on each and every niche product and nothing more. Then you can market that page to appeal directly to the target market. Always include product reviews on the web site you're promoting so visitors will have an initial understanding about what the product can do for them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product -- especially yourself. Be sure that these customers are willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing. Tip: You can usually use the testimonials from the main web site for the products/services that you are marketing. You can also write articles highlighting the typical uses of the product and include them on the web site as an additional page. Make the web pages aesthetically pleasing with compelling copy and include calls to action. Each headline should attract the readers to read more and even contact you. Highlight the special factors that the product/service offers. This will help your readers to learn what the item is about and will want to find out more. 2. Offer free reports to your readers Wherever possible, position your reports or links to reports near the very top side of your page or even in the first fold of the web page. This ensures that they aren't overlooked. Try creating an autoresponder series that will be emailed to those who opt-in to receive the report. According to research, sales are more commonly made around the seventh time a prospect is contacted. So this method is definitely worthwhile and does the hard work for you. Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone -- 1. You can make a sale of the product or service, or 2. The prospect will leave your web page to find what they were looking for. By sending useful information directly to their inboxes every few days, you can effectively remind them of the product they thought they were initially interested in and later, down the track, you might find that you make a sale when you least expect it. Ensure the autoresponder series content is directed toward specific reasons why the prospect should purchase the product without making it sound like a sales pitch. Focus on important points like how the product or service can make life easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email to attract the prospect's interest. Where possible, avoid using the word free because there are still spam filters that dump those emails into the junk before they're read... Try using a thesaurus for alternate words. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they'll be missing something big if they don't buy your products and services. But don't over-hype the copy... That's a definite turnoff. 3. Aim for targeted traffic Just think, if the person who visited your web site has no interest whatsoever in what you're offering, they'll be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in ezines and reports. This way you can locate publications that focus on your target customers and your resource box just might grab their attention enough to compel them to visit your site. Try writing a minimum of two articles each week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles, you can generate as many as 100 targeted prospects to your web site each day. Always remember that only one out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or signup for your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your web site each day, that can equate to ten based on average statistics. When you think about it, the tactics given above aren't really difficult to carry out. They require a little time, effort and an action plan on your part. Try using these tactiucs for several affiliate marketing programs. You can then maintain a good source of income and increase your success rate. That's something that very few affiliate marketers can achieve... Because they give up or use the incorrect tactics. Don't give up and stick to these basic tried and true principles. And remember to expect a bigger paycheck each month.
